Highlights of the 2020 Global Serres Distributor Meeting
Last week, Serres distributors from across the world gathered in Dubai for the Global Serres Distributor Meeting, held on January 30-31 at the Sofitel Dubai the Palm, UAE. All in all 47 attendees from 21 countries met to share experiences, discover new product developments, receive the latest updates from Serres, and to network with peers across the Serres distributor community.
The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Mika Hagberg, Managing DIrector of Serres Oy. In his opening speech, Mr. Hagberg addressed there's a clear strategy behind where Serres is evolving; adding more value to the hospitals with fluid management. Transforming Serres into a medical capital equipment company requires new skills, and by nurturing our viability, we can build continued success with relevant offering.
The event continued with a business review by Stéphane Corp, Vice President, Sales & Marketing. Mr. Corp flagged the importance of sticking to our core values guiding our work - customer focus, quality, courage to change, fairness & respect and viability. He reflected Serres being a common sense company that wants to progress and grow, but do it in a sustainable way. Mr. Corp continued with the 2019 business performance, market changes, strategic focus areas, and organizational updates.
Manoj Sadani of the hosting company Dupharm carried on with a company and market presentation. Dupharm is a leading distributor in the region with over a decade of exceptional partnership with Serres.
While onsite, Serres presented its recently introduced fluid management system that is optimal for high fluid volume cases and designed to ease the everyday in the OR through simpler process around surgical suction. Sessions focused on the overall value proposition, capital equipment sales in healthcare, first customer experiences, hands-on demos, service requirements and marketing initiatives.
Among the most enriching parts of the event were success story presentations that allowed distributors to benefit from each other's best practices. The event showcased presentations from distributors including GBUK Healthcare (UK), the Surgical Company be - Hospithera (Belgium), Comercial LBF (Chile) and LifeHealthcare (Australia).
Serres also hosted focused panel discussions on the sales tactics and market movements providing an excellent platform to go deeper on what's really going on in the markets and how we can add more value with our offering.
Event attendees were treated to a dinner and entertainment at a spectacular desert resort Bab Al Shams, providing sounds and tastes of Arabia at an authentic desert venue amidst the rolling dunes.

During the 18th annual meeting, Serres honored a key distributor for his distinct success in sales over the past year. The Sales Excellence Award was presented to:

In his thank you speech, Mika Hagberg, Managing Director, Serres recognized Mr. Overmeiren for his persistence in sales that has resulted in outsales growth and exceed of the annual sales targets for Serres Nemo fluid disposal equipment. As usual, the best performer is rewarded with a long weekend get-away incentive trip to Finland with his spouse.
Once again, we would like to thank all who joined us in Dubai; your attendance made the event the most memorable, and the collaboration and energy among the entire Serres family was truly inspiring to experience.
