Serres Achieves ISCC PLUS Certification at Both Production Sites, Advancing Circularity in Healthcare

Serres has reached a significant milestone in its sustainability journey: our production sites in Kauhajoki and Saarijärvi, Finland, have achieved ISCC PLUS certification.
“Sustainability is not just an add-on for us; it is the foundation of our strategy and a key differentiator in the market,” says Nicke Svanvik, CEO. “This achievement supports the growing demand for more sustainable single-use solutions in healthcare and helps reduce dependence on fossil-based raw materials in a highly regulated environment.”
Supporting the Transition to Bio-Based Feedstocks
ISCC PLUS certification provides a strong foundation for ongoing material innovation and reinforces the credibility of future sustainability initiatives. It also enables Serres to offer customers mass-balanced, bio-based single-use plastic products.
“ISCC PLUS is a voluntary certification scheme for bio-based, renewable and circular raw materials across global supply chains. It provides verifiable proof that our products are made from responsibly sourced, waste-based materials,” says Katriina Kottelin, QA/RA and Sustainability Director. “The certification enables the tracking of material flows through a mass-balance approach and supports independent verification of renewable and bio-based inputs.”

ISCC PLUS certification supports global sustainability goals by ensuring:
- Full traceability of materials throughout the supply chain
- Responsible sourcing in accordance with strict environmental and social criteria
- Greater use of renewable, recycled, and waste-based raw materials
- Transparent and independently verified sustainability claims
